The &SYSNOBS macro variable returns the number of observations read from the last data set that was closed by the previous procedure or DATA step. If a %PUT of &SYSNOBS is issued after running the EXPORT procedure, a value of 793 is returned. The value should be the number of observations in the SAS® data set that was written out to the external file when using PROC EXPORT. For example, the SASHELP.CLASS data set has 19 observations, so the value of &SYSNOBS should be 19 instead of 793 after the PROC EXPORT step completed.
There is currently no circumvention for this problem.
